A hearthwarming trek tailor made to our desires

For us this was a most amazing and personal experience. We went on a 5 day hike/ 7 day trip (around 15-20km hike per day) including the Jebel Serwa summit, we started from Marrakech and ended in Ouarzazate.

Two months before we already contacted english speaking Chris and Ahmed to discuss our level of hiking and equipment that we needed/had. We could leave excess luggage in the gite we stayed the first night. Prices were discussed transparently, although take into account that you will need to dispense some drinking money here and there. Prices were about 50-75 euro per day per person, everything included. When I say everything included, I mean really everything, with the best service one could get.

We experienced the harvesting of saffron in the middle of nowhere, shared picknicks with nomads and sheep, enjoyed tea on the summit of Jebel Serwa, ate fresh bread from a village backery, ate apples from the trees, visited an amazing and well preserved and still in use Agadir/Ighrem (grainary).

It was the best way to come in contact with the real berber life and understand what they were saying. We even learned a few songs on the way. Our guide Ibrahim made sure everything was ok for us at all time, the pace, the weather, sleeping arrangements. He also modified the tour a bit, with our agreement, to make the summit climb more pleasant and to pass through iziwai because it was more beautiful. There were a lot of local sources of spring water but the mules carried also some big bottles we bought.

Ibrahim made us a delicious variety of tagines and other food during the whole trip, we were always provided of berber whiskey. We slept a few nights in a tent that was provided and carried by the mules, we had a tent for dinner too. We slept in the most amazing places that we would otherwise have never seen or known.

We want to thanks Ahmed, Chris, Ibrahim, Lahcen and Ibrahim once again to take us on this adventure. This tour certainly enriched our minds and hearths.

If you want to meet the nicest people, have the nicest food, and see extraordinary scenery then this trek will be perfect for you. We were on a weeks holiday in the area and wanted a 1 day walk into the Altas mountains. We are fairly experienced walkers but not serious treckers. First these walks are not suitable for anybody who does not already have walking boots with them. We did. Second take the advice of Ahmed who will make sure that you walk where the sun is not too strong.
Just a quick note to say thank you for organising a great tour for my us. It all went like clockwork. Ahmed, Hassan the trek guide, and Omar the driver were very helpful and efficient. The accommodation was all brilliant, with the guesthouse at Ahmed being particularly good value. The camel ride and night in a tent in the dessert was obviously a bit of a tourist cliche but we loved it nonetheless. Ending up in Marrakech and wandering around the madina was a fun way to end an action-packed week. Ian and Joanne November 2018
I meet Ahmed in the town of Imlil. He is a great experienced mountain guide, told me many stories and we had a good chilled out chat in town. He told me of a few quieter walks via some Berber villages I could do as I was not in Imlil for trekking the Altas Mountains. We talked about my return 2019 and ideas of what to do for a 5 days hike in the mountains.
We did a five hours tour through the Berber villages with Ahmed who is an experienced and very friendly local guide. As we walked through the villages we could authentically experience how people live here, while Ahmed gave us a lot of background information about the Arabic and Berber culture. On top of that Ahmed organized an amazing traditional lunch at his brother’s house in one of the villages. We had a wonderful day we will never forget and are very thankful for the tour with Ahmed.
My girlfriend and I had a 2 day trip with Trek Atlas. Nothing was too much of a problem for Ahmed, who organised the taxi from our hotel to Imlil, and kept us updated in the run up to our visit. We had a great time with our guide, Abdul, who shared his knowledge of the Berber communities and towns during the trek, whilst also being so kind as to invite us to his home where we enjoyed lunch.
My boyfriend and I booked a 2 day excursion around Imlil with Trek Atlas. We found the trip to be amazing value, and our guide, Abdul, was really kind. Ahmed made sure to meet us at the start and at the end of our trip. We got to eat lunch in Abdul's house, and had a picnic beside a beautiful waterfall on the second day. It wasn't too strenuous and Abdul was able to adjust the pace depending on how tired we were feeling. Heather September 2018
..Solo 3 day trek that included Mt Toubkal and a day walking in the valley. For me, tough going through the snow only made possible by Hassan, Hassan and Ahmed. My needs were anticipated and my requests met with a smile. No wheat...no problem....no nuts...no problem...no mint tea...ok you are a pain but no problem) So, no matter what issues or concern on health, food, safety you may have Ahmed and his team will make sure you are safe, secure and anxiety free.
Well...what can we say! What a trip!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome! My husband and I booked a trek with Chris and Ahmed way back in Jan/Feb of this year. We had limited time........we told Chris what we wanted to do and boom! it was arranged, we agreed with the travel plans and we could hardly wait to arrive in Morocco to start the trek. We met up with Ahmed and Ibriham in Imlil before our trek through Toubkal and the end of the four days in the Sahara Desert. They were both so nice and very wonderful to deal with.
Dear Ahmed, Mum and I would both like to thank you so much for arranging the most wonderful trek in the valleys of the Atlas Mountains. From the moment we met up with you, Hassan (Guide) and Hassan (Cook and Muleteer), we were so well looked after. The scenery was spectacular, the walk was reasonably challenging but the pace was perfect, the accommodation was basic but comfortable and the food prepared by Hassan was the most delicious, local Berber dishes. We would highly recommend your company to other adventurers!
Dear Ahmed, I would like to thank you for organizing our holiday in Morocco. Everybody we have met has been very kind and helpful. I would not hesitate in recommending Trek Atlas to our friends and family if they wished to visit Morocco. Our guide Mouhsine was very helpful and was knowledgeable about all aspects of our trek. Mouhsine was very good with our children and our daughter was very sad when we said goodbye this evening as she will miss him. Chris
