A hearthwarming trek tailor made to our desires

For us this was a most amazing and personal experience. We went on a 5 day hike/ 7 day trip (around 15-20km hike per day) including the Jebel Serwa summit, we started from Marrakech and ended in Ouarzazate.

Two months before we already contacted english speaking Chris and Ahmed to discuss our level of hiking and equipment that we needed/had. We could leave excess luggage in the gite we stayed the first night. Prices were discussed transparently, although take into account that you will need to dispense some drinking money here and there. Prices were about 50-75 euro per day per person, everything included. When I say everything included, I mean really everything, with the best service one could get.

We experienced the harvesting of saffron in the middle of nowhere, shared picknicks with nomads and sheep, enjoyed tea on the summit of Jebel Serwa, ate fresh bread from a village backery, ate apples from the trees, visited an amazing and well preserved and still in use Agadir/Ighrem (grainary).

It was the best way to come in contact with the real berber life and understand what they were saying. We even learned a few songs on the way. Our guide Ibrahim made sure everything was ok for us at all time, the pace, the weather, sleeping arrangements. He also modified the tour a bit, with our agreement, to make the summit climb more pleasant and to pass through iziwai because it was more beautiful. There were a lot of local sources of spring water but the mules carried also some big bottles we bought.

Ibrahim made us a delicious variety of tagines and other food during the whole trip, we were always provided of berber whiskey. We slept a few nights in a tent that was provided and carried by the mules, we had a tent for dinner too. We slept in the most amazing places that we would otherwise have never seen or known.

We want to thanks Ahmed, Chris, Ibrahim, Lahcen and Ibrahim once again to take us on this adventure. This tour certainly enriched our minds and hearths.

We (my family and I ) had a wonderful holiday in the Atlas Mountains. Ahmed organised the event well, whilst Hassan took great care of us both during the trek and made sure we were comfortable and fed well. I could not fault the service. Thank you so much. kind regards Tanveer

Our party of seven took the six day trek with TrekAtlas.com. starting from Imlil including Lake Ifni and Toubkal Summit (Trek B). Ahmed, the leader, welcomed us and was very attentive and introduced us to our guide Hussaine who was excellent throughout the trip, set a nice pace and was keen to tell us about local Berber custom and points of interest. The muleteers and chef were fantastic throughout the Trek And it was particularly nice to know that this was a local company feeding much needed money into the local community
Combined Trek & Desert Tour in the Atlas Mountains
We are now back from our excellent trip with Trek Atlas, contented, fit and happy! The mountain trek was excellent, the 3 boys and guide were very hard working, helpful and competent, the desert experience great fun, and the food on the trek (especially considering the facilities for cooking)...outstanding! The trip represented good value for money, and cannot be faulted in any substantial way!
My wife and I had a fantastic trip. We were most impressed by the attitude of our guide Brahim and chef Hassan, nothing was too much for them. I would recommend this company without hesitation. The country is very safe and the people honest and kind. Ladies travelling on their own would have no problems, the guides and all are very good and professional, they will take you at whatever pace you are comfortable. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for a great experience - Rauf and Shahin
Thank you whole heartedly for organising an amazing trip.
We would like to thank you for a wonderful trekking trip you arranged for us. It went ever so smoothly from day one! All the people who looked after us were lovely people. Ahmed and Hassan makes the best guide! Mohammed fed us tasty food and the Mohammed who owns the guest house, took really great care us too. All the accommodations were nice, clean & cosy. Also we really enjoyed the hammam bath. I will be bothering you again to book more trips for us! With Regards Vanita & Gulab
We want to thank you for helping us organize this trip. Although we chose an unusual time for a trek around M'Goun we had an amazing time, thanks to our guide Brahim. He took care of everything in a very friendly and relaxed way. We spent 9 great days in the mountains, did treks including valleys, gorges, villages and although we didn't reach the summit, because of snow and quickly changing weather on the day of ascent, it didn't spoil the fun and we absolutely enjoyed every moment spent there. It was one of the best experiences we've ever had.
New Zealander Kathy Ombler did a combined Desert Tour and Trek with Trek Atlas in November 2010. To find out more and read her comments, download the illustrated article she wrote about her experience for Fortify magazine. Download the article here.
Trekking in the Atlas mountains with children combined adventure with additional responsibilities. Ahmed Zin, our experienced guide from Trek Atlas, and his colleague, Hassan Bassaid, with the team of cuisinier and muleteers understood how to make the trek enjoyable for our families. They inspired confidence immediately by their caring approach and their attention to safety.
